I am Yinusa A. Korede, an international award-winning Filmmaker and Music Artist from Lagos, Nigeria. Graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Creative Arts: Theatre Art from the prestigious University of Lagos, Nigeria. In 2022, my film, DIVIDING LINES wins big at the 50th International Emmy Awards in New York. I emerged as the winner of the JCS International Young Creatives Awards, making it the first entry from Nigeria to ever win this award. Later in 2022, my film FLESH AND SPIRIT won the Best Experimental Film at Ibadan Indie Film Awards and Best Film at the African Smartphone International Film Festival. As a Filmmaker, I am constantly concerned about projecting African stories to the global audience. I use film as a tool for capturing and documenting the experiences of Africans in African society. I am a storyteller who prides in local stories, the impacts such stories have on the audience, and most importantly how such stories travel to a global audience.
