Born in Miami Fl, I attended Wellesley College, With the goal of being an congress-bound attorney. Hurdles including socioeconomic class and a recession took me from law to finance (Merrill Lynch) to working in music video writing treatments and coverage and spending plenty of time on sets back in FL. I was on my way to NY when I was diagnosed with kidney failure and the road to directing became a long and winding one. But I collected stories, pain, and insight and made lots of mistakes. I also learned everything I could about making media, starting in still and moving to video to film - from pre production to post, finance, writing and camera work. Today I put all of those skills together to make work that is queer, featuring BIOC and disabled inclusive - taking on the taboo with humor and heart by featuring WOC on both sides of the camera. As a disabled Black Caribbean woman with so much I want to share, I’d like to leave fewer hurdles than I encountered.
