I am inspired by and admire women such as Issa Rae and Micheala Cole, who write, direct, and act in their shows. Their authenticity and creativity in their work is something I aspire to do as well.
Alexandrina André, is a first-generation American born in Queens, New York and raised in Florida. Being a first-generation child enamored her in a world of diverse cultural backgrounds and that created a desire in her to tell those diverse stories. Her films focus on culture and the marginalized and she believes in telling these stories because they matter and they are a reflection to our world. She obtained a Bachelor's in English and a Master's Degree in Film Production. She has written and directed two shorts "Flora" and "Reversed" that have both showcased in film festivals such as Cinequest Film Festival, Florida Film Festival, Mumbai International Queer Film Festival, and Palm Beach International Film Festival. She also recently production managed "The Endless", a feature film that premiered in competition at the Tribeca Film Festival and is currently streaming on Netflix. Currentyl she is in the distribution phase of her new documentary called "One Life to Blossom" about trans activist Blossom C. Brown as she undergoes facial feminization surgery, and will be available on streaming platforms soon.
